In 2009, NalónChem decides to include nanotechnology into its Strategic Plan as a result of preliminary conducted research consisting of incorporating nanosized carbon materials into traditional coal tar derived products.
NalónChem has been embarked ever since in diverse R&D projects, thus leading into the development of its own nanotechnology. The objective pursued was to synthesize ceramic and metallic nanoparticles. For the time being, obtained results have been employed in providing “intelligent” functionality to threads and fabrics.
At NalónChem, an innovative, versatile and environmentally friendly technique is being developed to produce high performance nanomaterials in the form of nanosized metals, metal oxides or mixed metal oxides. This bottom-up technology enables fast continuous production of fully crystalline nanoparticles in the form of colloidal dispersions, with narrow size distributions and precise stoichiometries.
Moreover, this technology allows an outstanding level of product control (composition, particle size, size distribution and morphology), as well as flexibility to perform in-situ surface modifications, thus providing dispersion stability and compatibility between the solvent and the formulated final product.
Our manufacturing capacity is currently around tens of kg per month. A higher volume of production can be offered as well based on demand.
Manufacturing plant
Presently, our fully crystalline nanoparticles are available in the form of several colloidal dispersions having a high degree of stability:
6 ± 1 nm CeO2 nanoparticles
9 ± 2 nm TiO2 nanoparticles
We are currently focused on the following developments:
At NalónChem we understand that since every application demands specific product characteristics and properties, a “tailor-made” material needs to be optimized and customized, so all of our customer needs are met and provided added value is maximized accordingly.
We are willing to work closely with our customers to help them incorporate nanotechnology into their products with success.
