Nalonchem (Quimica del Nalon), through the Association of Chemical Industries of Asturias is promoting the second edition of the Master’s Degree in Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence for Business Process Optimization (2026–2027), offered by the IUDE-University of Oviedo Business School and the Asturias ICT Cluster.
The presentation featured Susana Luque Rodríguez, Vice Rector for Technology Transfer and Business Relations at the University of Oviedo, who highlighted the importance of this master’s program as an example of collaboration between the university and industry.
Likewise Jorge Julian Alvarez Rodriguez, president of the IQPA Cluster and director at Bayer, recalled how this master’s program arose from the real needs of companies. For his part, Enrique Jáimez Falagán, General Director of the Asturias ICT Cluster, emphasized the growing demand for professionals specialized in data analytics and AI, while Pablo Sánchez-Lorda, director of the master’s program, presented a practical curriculum connected to businesses and featuring paid internships.
Carlos Hugo Hevia Leoz, Head of Data Intelligence, Models & Simulations at ArcelorMittal Asturias, explained how AI is already transforming the industry, though with much uncertainty remaining, which underscores the importance of having specialized professionals, Iván Aitor Lucas del Amo, General Director of Innovation, Research, and Digital Transformation, highlighted the need for continuous training and reskilling.
